Quantity fabrication upgrades do not list any details

The box that normally identifies a upgrade button, and list the costs (for example: Duranium max costs 24 duranium and 240 scrap) fails to identify anything for the quantity upgrades (such as fabbing 3 duranium at a time).

All I know is that I get "insufficient unique scrap".
