Calendar refresh rate

Issue #29 new
Michele Gaidelis created an issue

It seems like if there is a change made to the calendar, it takes hours for the change to reflect in the app.

Hi Michele, what device are you using? We can't really do much about the Calendar refresh rate, but your device may have options to adjust it.

Thanks for the quick response! Galaxy Tab A; SM-T350; Android Version 7.1.1.

If you know of a way to get the app to reflect changes to the calendar faster than several hours, it would be appreciated. I would even be interested in paying for an upgrade. :)

Nothing I can see for Galaxy Tab A that allows you to change the refresh frequency of the Google Calendar app unfortunately. When you look at the Google Calendar app, does it show up there quickly? or does it also take hours to show up?

The calendar shows the change very quickly, just not the app. Even closing and opening the app doesn't refresh it. Does the information get cached somewhere? Is there a setting that would force it to update with the calendar?

Ok, leave it with us and we'll check to see if we can replicate and find some way to force it to update faster.

I think we may have found the issue(s). -Make sure only one calendar is selected in Google Calendar (We had Tasks and the user calendar selected as well as the Room Calendar under Google Calendar) -Do not use the Samsung Calendar -Try rebooting and syncing again

That's great! Yeah the Samsung calendar app is a bit strange. Good to know about the tasks issue though, hadn't seen that before.
