doesn't work with thunderbolt displays as it asks for a usb connection

Issue #41 new
Former user created an issue

i'm currently working with a thunderbolt display but brightnesscontroller doesn't see it and suggests to check whether the usb cable is connected. since i'm using a thunderbolt display, it's connected to the laptop (an hp z-book) only via thunderbolt cable and i have no way to use/add a usb cable.

any suggestion/workaround?

i seem to have tried all the possible parameters in the options menu, but couldn't make it to work.

thanks in advance and, anyway, my compliments for your work!

    Hello there,

    the same exact problem here. For what it's worth, it had perfectly worked on Windows 8 x64 but now it's "unable to detect any Apple Display" on Windows 8.1 x64. Nothing else has been changed but the OS.

    Any thought? I'm missing this brilliant little app! Oh yeah, the "HID information" is like this:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?>
    <ArrayOfHidDeviceInfo xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" />
