Microphone will not turn on (Brightness Controller & camera work fine)

OS: Windows 7 Pro 64 bit with all the updates Brightness Controller: version 1.5.7

Hello All. Has anyone had any luck getting Windows 7 to recognize the microphone on the Apple Cinema Display (ACD)? My Windows 7 laptop will not recognize the microphone on the ACD 24 inch, but it does recognize the iSight camera and the Brightness Controller works.

I'd love to get the ACD mic to work; the ACD usb is plugged in so it is not a cable issue. Suggestions? Do you know of drivers that can help? My iSight camera is not very useful without its mic functioning....tricky...
