It seems that there are indeed (some) releases that use advanced compression options. For example, the following release requires the audio-compression module to be disabled (-mcA-): https://www.srrdb.com/release/details/Need_for_Speed_Carbon_Collectors_Edition-Razor1911

Without the -mcA- flag the compressed output never matches the original.

These flags are still occasionally used it seems; the 2021 ISO rule set (OFFICIAL.GAME.ISO.RULESET.2021.READNFO-GAMEISO) needs the {{-mcT+}} flag for reconstruction.
