After looking closer at the code, I noticed there is actual support for having padding (garbage) appended at the end of Rar files. The problem with this Rar file was the end of archive block was not being detected; I opened Pull Request
#13which fixes that. -

According to the forum thread the problem was that the Rar file had garbage data appended at the end (and the SFV was modified to match). So perhaps this one can be closed, unless the error message could be improved or something?
