increase number of chainIDs beyond Z for vmd.cna pdb output

I have a tiny request. Would it be possible to add, say, small letters and/or numbers as chainID's for vmd.cna pdb analysis? My protein has 33 communities, and any chainID beyond Z is marked empty " ". I realize it will be confusing for vmd since the number of color codes for is limited (vmd has 33 pre-built colors, it seems), and I am not sure if the colors of spheres and chains will get mixed up, but perhaps that's okay.
