Similarity of structural dynamics

With reference to the tutorial

I quote “The similarity of structural dynamics is calculated by RMSIP based on the 10 lowest frequency normal modes. The rmsip values are pre-calculated in the modes object and can be accessed through the attribute modes$rmsip”

My understanding is that the similarity of structural dynamics is quite sensitive to how many modes are used. So my question is if it is possible to produce as heatmap (heatmap((1-modes$rmsip)using only the first non-trivial mode

It should be possible. In this case, it is just a dot product of two vectors (modes).
