http://hemel.waarnemen.com/FAQ/Zon/001.html beweert: "[...] we schatten dat ongeveer 900 000 jaar geleden de Maan zo dicht bij de Aarde stond dat iedere zonsverduistering totaal was. Over ongeveer 450 000 jaar zal de Maan vanaf de Aarde te klein lijken om nog een totale zonsverduistering te kunnen veroorzaken. Iedere eclips zal dan ringvormig zijn."

Ik vermoed dat die aantallen jaren niet kloppen. Vergelijk bijvoorbeeld met http://curious.astro.cornell.edu/question.php?number=294 :

"I read somewhere that since the moon is receding from the earth, someday there will be no more total eclipses of the sun. Do you know when that will occur?

It won't happen for a long while, 500 million years or more as best I can tell!"

Het ziet er naar uit dat jullie getallen wat aan de kleine kant zijn.
