RFC: Startup and shutdown sequence

Issue #209 resolved
Nick Hardy created an issue

It would be a really nice feature to have a startup and shutdown sequence.
The startup sequence could have options like:

  • cool down camera
  • open dome
  • take an image and platesolve
  • autofocus
  • callibrate phd2

stuff like that and then start or continue the imaging sequence

The shutdown sequence could have options like

  • stop the current sequence
  • warm the camera
  • park the scope
  • close the dome
  • maybe point the scope at a led flatpanel, turn on the flatpanel, start the flat wizard, turn the flatpanel off
    and things like that.

Both the startup sequence and the shutdown sequence could then be started at a certain time. like sundown or sunup.
Maybe the shutdown sequence could be initiated when clouds role in or when phd loses the star or when a couple of images fail or things like that.

Ofcource this could start out as a way to stop the sequence and park the scope at a certain time, but more features could be added over time.
For now i would like to set up everything and start a big sequence which would take multiple nights and then go to bed and see how far it got in the morning.

This will be part of 1.11 as part of the new sequencer., where you can set up desired start/end areas however you like. The first iteration of this new sequencer will soon be available through nightly builds, therefore marking this as resolved.
