SBIG Camera Support

Issue #82 resolved

sense SBIG has no ASCOM drivers... would be nice to see native driver support implemented in the future if you have time :)

I think this document has all the info needed but i'm no expert.

I’d love to implement SBIG (pre-Aluma) support, but I would need the appropriate camera hardware to implement and test it with. I personally don’t have a need for a CCD camera of those types so I would need something loaned to me, or at most be quite cheap so that purchasing it is not a large sum of money that I would be throwing away.

Great, I can send you mine. When will you have time and how long will it take?

Dale is welcome to use our software development kit. Feel free to let him know its available. We never heard back from him.

    Thanks Ralf

I’m with Ralf, and also have a SBIG-8300M. Are there plans to support this? I’m willing to be a tester!

Blind hardware interaction development is highly time consuming when dealing with more complex hardware when you don’t have the device at hand.
A filter wheel for example is possible, a camera however will always run into some unexpected behavior or lack of docs etc.
There are no plans to implement this currently, as neither I do have such a camera nor someone in the community that knows how to implement it has one.
Also borrowing one is good at first glance, but for long term problems not feasible either. When there is a bug and no one has the device anymore it is really hard to fix that problem.
