Advanced Sequencer - No wait for PHD forced calibration to end before first picture

Issue #938 resolved
Jean-Charles created an issue

Hi,

In the Advanced sequencer, I’m using a “Basic Sequence Target” generated from the Framing assistant. This sequence’s target instructions start with “Slew, Center and Rotate”, “Run Autofocus”, then “Start Guiding” with “Force calibration” set to on, before branching to the “Target Imaging Instructions”. I’m using PHD as guider.

When I launched it last Thursday, I was very surprised to see the first image ruined because the imaging started before the calibration was complete, generating the well-known “V” shapes instead of stars. I usually don’t include guiding calibration in a Sequence (I’d rather take the time to force it manually before), so I never had the issue, but I was in a hurry to start 😞 .

In any case, the Guiding operation should not be considered as finished until the calibration is complete, when required.

Thanks,

    Hi,

please add the log file for that session in order to identify the issue. The start guide command should be the same except for the calibration parameter and to complete early is unexpected.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

Here's the log in question. The "StartGuiding" command is at line 545 but there are "Skipped Stop Guiding" in the previous lines (524, 528) that I cannot understand, and that seem to lead to a failed "Start Guiding"at line 549.

I don't understand it, there, sorry.

    Thanks,

It looks like when forcing the calibration the step to wait for the calibration to finish didn’t gave phd2 enough time to switch the states. I will add more tolerance for that in the next nightly and the issue shouldn’t happen anymore then.
