JUCE 1.52 no longer available

The readme.txt describes:

It's important that you use JUCE 1.52, you can download it from
https://github.com/julianstorer/JUCE/releases

This old JUCE version is no longer available. Can I use the oldest version 2.0.31 instead?

I found a solution several month ago to build the project with the old JUCE release v1.52 which is available under a separate branch:

https://github.com/WeAreROLI/JUCE/releases/tag/1.52
