Issue #41 resolved

Disconnected, reason:3->'LM_DISCONNECT_REASON_ERROR'

Patrice Peterson
created an issue

The error above appears whenever I try to connect to my server (phcn.de). I've tried enabling/disabling SSL (server worked with both before), using the git version of loudmouth, using loudmouth with md5digest patch – the error's always the same.

I enabled tracelog lv4 and attached its output, as well as my ~/.mcabberrc.

    Did you installed the self-signed certificate of phcn.de on the machine where you're running mcabber?

    No, apparently not. I can connect just fine when using the option "set ssl_ignore_checks" and disabling SSL/TLS, so it does seem to come down to the certificate. I didn't think the two lines (certificate not trusted and the lm_disconnect_reason_error) were related.

    Really don't know jack about SSL and certificates, so sorry for not haing tested this beforehand!

    You can still set the ssl_fingerprint, which will be checked even if ssl_ignore_checks=1. That's definitely better than disabling ssl/tls completely.

    Yep, I know, I tried that before.

    Anyways, I tried getting the certificate using gnutls-cli:

    $ gnutls-cli --print-cert -p 5223 phcn.de

    I know this isn't bug-related at all, but could you tell me how to get that certificate, and where I might put it?
