Free Head-Start Which is not Super Free

I bought a sonic-wave before starting the game. While the game is starting, it asked me if I want a free head start. But only with one condition. If I watched a video. Anyway, a free head start was not a deal to miss so I took it. I watched the video and wasted the 30 seconds of my life. Then I came back to game screen. There was an inactivated head start button in the middle of the screen and it was written "free" below it. However, nothing happened. No head start was activated. I waited for it, and nothing happened. Except for a meteor came and crashed me.
