Trade duplicate bug

Was trading with my friend to evolve my Kadabra. The second I sent the Kadabra away, his trade screen froze. When he reloaded the game, he did not have my Kadabra, but I had the Pokemon he traded me as well. We essentially duplicated the Pokemon.
