Knocked out other trainer's Pokemon but they still use a move

Occasionally, when my Pokemon knocks out the other Pokemon, the other Pokemon still gets to use a move. Its Sprite also remains up during the switch prompt, or if it was the other trainer's last Pokemon, remains on screen during the speech they give at the end.
