Former user created an issue

I tried to trade my lvl 28 Jolteon for my friend's lvl 9 Onyx. Expected result: I get the Onyx and he gets the Jolteon. Experience: I got the Onyx, but he also had the Onyx and the Jolteon somehow disappeared.

Is there any way to get it back somehow?
