Game crashes after having all available Pokemon faint in a wild battle

had just entered the cave inside shade forest and upon being blacked out by a Baltoy at lvl. 9 i received a crash state error message.

(and just an opinion, but i feel like the Pokemon in the introductory section - both wild and trainer - of the game are a tad over leveled).
