Fur coat ability not working?

I have a Furfrou and an Eevee in my team, with more or less the same DEF value, and taking more or less the same damage from physical attacks. Problem is, Furfrou should actually be taking half that damage since it has Fur Coat as ability, so it's probably not working as intended.
