Depositing pokemon in the pc does not heal them

If you store a pokemon in the pc by hitting the store button under move pokemon, or deposit pokemon, they are not healed. If you go to move pokemon, then manually place them in the pc, it does heal them. Kind of annoying for the third gym leader, as I only figured out after I started the battle.
