Cannot use Mew without follower Pokemon

Lost against Augur in Crystal Cave. Respawned in Dream World since I last used Chansey in there. Went back but couldn't get through since the Tesseract section was there. Suze told me to try to go back to Pokemon Center and it worked, though the minute I entered, I was healed as opposed to talking at the desk. I suspect it's an issue with being revived in the Dream World with the remote Chanseys, which resulted in my follower Pokemon not being sent out again.
