Hyperspace Hole bug

I lost to Adam a few times, then I defeated him and obtained the Hyperspace Hole ability. However, when using it on the insignia in the cave, after the puff of smoke, nothing happens. Also, my Pokemon follower disappeared after losing to Adam, and it has not returned, even after healing at the Chansey. Bug is for 1.2, not 1.1.8, but that's pretty obvious.
