Solo run breaker

First of all this is in 1.2.2 but that option apparently isn't available. So I started a solo run and chose my Pokemon from the ball that you usually get Squirtle from. After it asked me what I wanted to name my Growlithe it asked me what I wanted to name Squirtle. So now I have TWO Pokemon on a SOLO run. Kinda defeats the purpose don't you think? Of course, the only reason I started a solo run was so I could start with Growlithe but I'm sure there's people who want to legitimately do a solo run and wont enjoy this glitch.
Doing the solo run and caught Rotom, didn’t get sent to PC stuck with it in party.
