Infinite loop (Fly/Baton Pass)

So I was on the Kayla fight in the League. I used Fly against the Espeon. While I was in the air, it Baton Passed into Sylveon. I was stuck in an infinite loop where I kept using the first half of Fly, and Sylveon did nothing, as if I was trapped in a semi-Encore, being unable to even switch or use an item. This kept up until Fly ran out of PP. Then any time Sylveon tried to make a move, the only text that showed up was "it doesn't affect the foe Sylveon" (this part continued even after I was back on the ground permanently), my move would land as expected, and the next turn would start. This lasted until the Sylveon was down.
