Eggs break game

Any time I attempt to hatch, look at the summery of, or move an egg from into or out of the PC, the game crashes with no crash report, and deletes the .exe to run the game itself.

I don't lose the .exe, but otherwise have the same issue. I've seen many others having this issue throughout the years, and there seems to be no fix? If the egglocke is so broken, why do they keep it in? I've tried 3 times with random, and once with file, and every time it's given me an error, booted me out, and made me start all over. Considering the LONG scene you need to get through, followed by so much dialogue, I'm getting really annoyed really fast...
