Mega Altaria Typing

So I was playing against the Abyssal Cult and it was my Mega Altaria against Swampert. Swampert's Ice Punch did less than half on the turn I went for a faster roost. However, the turn I went for Dragon Dance, Ice Punch did nearly my entire health bar, easily double the damage of what it was doing before. Roost gets rid of the flying type of the user the turn it uses it but Mega Altaria should be Dragon/Fairy.
