after the hidden event in the safari zone you are now able to battle with your pokemon and catch with normal balls (same as the event itself which i am not sure was intended)

update, after trying to get out of the safari i got a crash, so i went back in again, got the <insert spoiler here> went back and i actually was able to use safari balls this time, the only thing deferent is that i rushed to the spot and didn't catch anything beforehand. another thing to note is that the first time when the bug occured the timer desapeared completely.
