Delta Scizor 1 exp gain

As the title says, my Delta Scizor only gains 1exp from battling. Wild or trainer, mega evolved or normal, only 1 exp per battle.

You are playing on hard and your delta scizor has reached the level cap for the part of the game in which you currently are. It will earn 1 XP until you earn another badge, or you complete the next significant plot point.
