Can't connect to server in my secret base safari

Like the title says, when I'm in my secret base trying to go to another base. When I enter the cave where it says connecting to server all I get is a black screen and I have to press cancel (x) to get out of it, but I just go back to my friend safari. The server status on the reddit page says that the servers are online, but it's not working for me.
