start up game crash

not entirely sure if this is a bug or not but whenever i try to start the game. it immediately crashes. i've seen a couple of others have this problem as well and i don't know how to fix it . pls help
I also have this issue on my computer. I am running Windows 10, and I have tried starting up the exe in every compatibility mode, none of them work. I redownloaded and re-extracted multiple times, using both 7zip and winrar as per the instructions on the FAQ. All I get as an error is that the game is not responding. Is there any way to grab the logs from this program so I can tell more about the error and potentially narrow down what is failing?
Edit: I have also tried installing different versions and it happens on each one, so I don't think this is a new bug, but rather something that makes it incompatible with my setup.
