6th Gym Leader glitch

Hello, I would like to report a minor glitch involving the sixth Gym. I am aware that trainers in the gym don't give a lot of experience, because they're meant to be avoided. However, currently, this reduced experience also applies to the Gym Leader. I find that odd, because the Gym Leader, for obvious reasons, cannot be skipped. Can an adjustment be made so that fighting the gym trainers in the sixth gym still gives you reduced experience, but fighting their leader has you gaining experience normally?
