QAvimator Beta / Home

Welcome to QAvimator - Bento Preview

QAvimator will support Bento and you're welcome to download it now! Parts of the program may be broken/incomplete; most of these issues will be fixed before release.

UPDATE (February 11, 2019)

From Fig Mistwood: Hi everyone. QAvimator is on a virtual hiatus. I say that because I want to work on it but I really must rest my hands in the evenings for my day job. There probably won't be updates for awhile. I'll update this page if that changes. If anyone wants to contribute, feel free to message me or fork the project. Thanks!

What is this?

A preview of the next QAvimator release for anyone who wants the Bento update early.

What is Bento?

If you have an avatar mesh that supports it, then there are new bones for creating more complex animation.

Why is development slow?

Fig Mistwood is the only developer and he works in his free time.

Also, he injured his hands a few years ago from typing too much (Repetitive Strain Injury, or RSI). So, now he needs to rest his hands more, which means less development.

Can I report bugs?

Yes, but first, please check the list of Known Issues below. If you think it's not on the list, write down the steps to reproduce it and send this via Notecard to Fig Mistwood in Second Life.

Can I ask another question?

Yes! Fig's a friendly guy. Just message him or send a notecard with questions, feedback, or whatever! He'll try to respond within a week.

Where do I download QAvimator with Bento?

Known Issues

  • Timeline vertical scroll bar is ugly
  • Undo/Redo chain breaks if avatar is rotated/positioned from the 3D view window
  • Bento avatar is difficult to click due to small bones
  • Cannot delete multiple key frames at the same time
  • Undo does not work after copying and pasting frames
  • Rotation/Position sliders can only be scrolled toward 0
  • On MacOS, mouse position for clicking bones is not over the actual bones
  • Missing female avatar
  • Avatar becomes stuck in T-pose (rename or delete "data/male1.dae" to remove the avatar, leaving just the skeleton)
