Custom List

Hey again.

Once again, your app is awesome and really gives us a lot of new options.

One thing I’m missing is the ability to make our own Prefixed list lists (Picker).

I have several private lists I would love to add to make use of in my automations (one list is for whether I’m at our summer house, coming soon (in 24 hours or 24-48 hours or 3 days) or Away (not coming soon). I would also use it in my automations to track our washing/ dryer machine which tells me whether the machines are running, finished (and ready to take the clothes out) or not running. And some more lists that are private and not suitable for sharing (either due to privacy or because their custom for my needs/situations).

I currently use a lot of false/true, but that gets messy and complicated… using list would greatly reduce amount of flow cards needed as well as make devices much cleaner (as I can use fewer fields).

Sorry, Athom/Homey doesn't allow dynamic lists, thats why you can request custom lists and i can add them. But since SDK2 (about 2019), dynamic lists are not possible anymore.

I see, would it be possible to let us make them from the app settings and then use the list in the devices (I assume it would require an app restart)?
Or do the list have to be created in the code of the app?

No, that would still be dynamic.

lists must be defined in the app.json itself, meaning, the must be fully defines when I deplorabele the app to the store.

No way around that im afraid ;)

I understand, just wanted to make sure. That’s a shame, it would simplify a lot for me.

I think these would be a compromise for me (would reduce the amount of fields/flows needed but still should still be usable by most):

Off, Running, Finished (Not emptied), and potentially a Finished (could increase use cases) - For dryer/washing machine and similar.
A presence list, which could include: Present, Away, Coming Soon.

Those are so far all I can think of now that may be useful for others as well.

You can certainly add your own language, but since the DC app is fully translated into English, Dutch and German, i do require both (but you can use google translate and if German people find wrongly translated stuff, they can than let me know.)
