Custom Icons not working
When trying to apply/upload a custom Icon to either a “Unit” or “Mode” it ends up displaying a scribed box rather than the actual .svg that gets uploaded/selected.

I too am having this issue with every SVG I tried. With or without the
fill
property in the SVG, a simple or complex illustration and uploaded through the mobile app or web app. I’m on a Homey Pro (early 2019) version 8.1.3. -
repo owner Yeah, ill take a look asap.
it looks like there have been changes on Homey, the icons are deleted because the app gets a signal that the pairing has been aborted (in multiple diagnostic is this error writen).

Thanks for the swift reply! No worries, it’s not that urgent :) In this case it’s just too bad that it’s not possible to replace the icon afterwards without having to re-create the device (= not a feature request btw).

repo owner Perhaps take a look at advanced virtual devices grom the device capabilities app. There you can change icons after creation whenever you want.

Hi Vic ,
I just saw this issue and got an idea:
The icons in my Drive folder do work as custom device icon, so with one of these you can check if the issue is in the icons you use or not: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1RBWdfgU3alnEZAyFslZsut1zfFutS5Zm
These Athom made icons also work as custom device icon:

This is a just created VD with a home made icon:
I’m also on a Homey Pro (early 2019) version 8.1.3.

repo owner I cannot simulate this issue.
are there any icons that do work? -

Waiting to find a way to simulate the issue.

For me, none of the icons I download from Font Awesome (where I used them from in the past too) work, regardless of their complexity. I tried with a very simple circle (https://fontawesome.com/icons/circle?f=classic&s=regular) but this doesn’t work. The icons Peter linked to work just fine, even though the markup op the SVG doesn’t seem to be too different.

repo owner Okay, this one goes wrong with me also. Let me check.
Altho AVDs from Device Capabilities is much beter in handling icons, since you can change them after creation.

repo owner Okay, i can use another icon.
But as soons as i restart the app, the other icon is not used anymore but i get the defauklt device icon.
Can you confirm this?

I don’t have the same behavior here, I can add one from the SVGs Peter linked to and it stays visible even after restarting the app:
… while for my own (or Font Awesome’s, rather) it’s still:
