batoto.exe doesn't open in zip file, .jar does but no files retrieved

Issue #21 new
Former user created an issue

I had version 3.3 and it quit retrieving chapter lists of files to download--list was blank. So, I downloaded 3.5 version. In the zip file, the .exe file won't open. I get the following messages:

WinRAR Diagnostic messages: Cannot execute "C:\Users\Julie\AppData\Local\Temp\Rar$EXa0.431\Batoto.exe"

And another little message window opens with it that says: "Batoto.exe will be compressed only after closing the application using it. Modifications will be lost if you close WinRAR before that."

The Batoto.jar file opens, though. However, when I enter the address to analyze, it shows that its analyzing. But, when it's done, there is nothing there. No chapter list, Nothing.

What am I doing wrong?

Hello, you need to extract both the files (EXE and JAR file) to a folder from the ZIP file and only then run the EXE, you can't launch the EXE directly from the ZIP package. About the other issue, please could you tell me what manga are your trying to download? So I could test it and see what's the problem, thank you

when I extract them both into a folder, Norton says .exe is unsafe and removes it.

I'm trying to download numerous different manga. Circle (Wang Ziying) is one example.

While using version 4.5 I find that when I select 'Bypass Cloudflare' the list/chapters does not generate however when I skip/do not use the 'Bypass Cloudflare' the chapters/list appears. It works the same prior to the Cloudflare thing. I hope this helps!

Yes, Bato.to removed the Cloudflare anti-bot protection a couple of days after the ddos attack. I left the button/function to bypass it just in case in future they'll decide to enable it again, but for now you don't need to use it anymore
