2.31 (1.18.1) & (1.17.1) Can't preview placement or see white outlines.

Any buildmode I try, in both creative and survival, I can't preview the placement of blocks like I saw in the tutorial video's. I've tried all building modes and modifiers just to be safe.

Also I cant seem to be able to enable lines in mirror or radial menu mode.
