[1.18.1] Wont break multiple block?

i have reach to 100, i tried mining block at 50 length but it only breaks 1 block at a time? there is a line of red squares to say what direction as well.

i press ALT and the build thing is set to disable (previous versions would not let you break multiple blocks if 1 of these builds was selected, no idea if thats changed?).

it will however let me use the build function (1st window when you press alt).

i had just downloaded the lasted 1.18.1 version of this mod (just gone round updating all the mods i have)
