1.16.5 - Blocks won't place and yes I have tried in creative too

I place blocks and use the mod as I usually would but all of a sudden the blocks disappear after placing them, I tried in creative mode to see if it was a different bug but even then they disappear too. Any thoughts on what I could do? I'm updated to the latest version of 1.16.5

Some ideas:
Are you on a server with spawn protection enabled?
Can you place blocks when the mod is disabled (Normal build mode)?

Are you using any other mods that can protect or claim chunks?
