Currently you can create a new file of the type if you are in the right directory.
Is there a way to add the ability or action to create a file of say a trigger when you are in the classes directory ?
Or do you know of another short cut that could achieve the same functionality?
Justin, there's not a way to do so right now, but I'm thinking that perhaps I can only enforce a directory<=>metadata type constraint if the action is started explicitly from a context menu action where there's a specific context. If you started it instead from a keyboard shortcut or via Ctrl+Shift+A (or the Mac equivalent), perhaps I could show all creation actions and choose the target directory based on the metadata type. Let me chew on that a bit, but right now I'm working on a grab bag of small bug fixes and enhancements after cranking out several larger features in a row. This might be a good fit for the current work.
Are you using new metadata file structure? I can create trigger wherever. If you are using old metadata format, then you are limited to folders by Salesforce.
