"Could not send Message" error when creating a DX project [Resolved by disabling corporate proxy]

When I do New Project | Salesforce DX | then I follow the steps for a new local project (no source control), I create a new scratch org (or even use an existing one). I then come to the steps where I need to click “resolve” (attachment1.png). I click resolve and the system tries to generate the offline table. Then I get the error message "Could not send Message" (attachment2.png). The offline table is not created and the scratch org is not connected to my project. It’s impossible to get started. Please help.

Please ignore, I didn’t figure out that this laptop had corporate proxy on it (hate those damn proxies!). I disabled it and now it works normally.

Hah! You got to it before I could even respond. Yeah, that message is almost always due to incorrect proxy configuration. I'm glad you figured it out.
