Deploy Modifed Metadata classes not updating api version

The deploy on save command works as expected if I update my api version. My class is updated. If I try and use the Deploy Modified Metadata command it does not push my api version. I haven’t tested out metadata types with api versions. Only classes.

Reproduce Steps- Change API version of class => Use deploy modifed metadata command to same org or new org => log into org and look at class.

I am using Webstorm on 2020.2.3 on Mac 10.15.7
