After update to 2.1.7.8(+) from Plugins settings screen, plugin is uninstalled (and must be reinstalled explicitly)

I'm logging this in the IC2 issue tracker as a proxy for the following JetBrains issue to raise visibility with IC2 users:

TLDR: Prior to 2.1.7.8, a few users reported losing their native connections when updating the IC2 plugin. This seems to be a bug with JetBrains' new support for dynamic plugins. As a workaround, in 2.1.7.8 I explicitly designated the plugin as requiring IDE restart on update. As long as you update from the toaster notification, all is fine. If you update from Settings / Preferences > Plugins, though, the IC2 plugin is no longer installed after the IDE is restarted. Sigh... The workaround, of course, is to reinstall the IC2 plugin immediately, but this is an unfortunate catch-22. I'm working with JetBrains now on this and hope for a quick resolution from them, minimally making the forced restart work properly in all scenarios.
