After updating to v1.7.5, license validation error: Failed to save the trial data

Stephen Liu created an issue 2016-10-24

I am on the trial period, I have a license key, but I figure I will activate after the trial expires.

After updating to 1.7.5, Failed to save the trail data error shows up upon starting IntelliJ.

I tried to enter my license key, however I was unable to do so due to the error window dictating the control, I could not get to the Setting menu.

Stephen, I'm very sorry for the issue. Would you mind sending me your idea.log (Help>Show Log in Explorer)? In particular I'm going to be looking for entries from the class LicenseValidator. Feel free to email it to me if you'd prefer.

I'm receiving the exact same issue. After updating to v1.7.5 I get the message with "license validation error: Failed to save the trial data". Let me know if you still need an idea.log.
