Preference to hide meta.xml files is ignored when branch changes

When I have a project loaded in IlluminatedCloud, with 'hide meta.xml' as my preference, and I change the git branch from the command line, when the project re-loads, that selection is ignored. Is there a way to make it persistent across a re-load? Obviously this is a nit, but it would be a nice-to-have
