Duplicate entries in the General > Contents > Selected list

When deciding what components to pull down from the remote server, it looks like there might be some duplicate entries in the list? I'm not sure if this is just what Salesforce is returning, or if there's some code that's expecting it to (not) have an s, when it actually does:

Unless the similar (plural vs. singular) names are actually causing issues, I'm going to resolve this as working-as-designed. Feel free to reopen if it is causing problems.

Yeah, that's coming from Salesforce. In fact, in my day job that's caused us some issues because, for example, the documentation specifies the metadata type "CustomLabels" (plural), but it wasn't working for us unless we specified "CustomLabel" (singular) in our package.xml. In this case I'm just taking what they give me and showing it for selection.
