Renaming of Lightning Components
Issue #942
duplicate
Currently there is no support from Salesforce to rename LCs if a developer want to change the name of an LC due to any reason. The only option is to delete that LC and create a new LC with the same code. It would be far more convenient to have this as a part of renaming files from within IC.

Thanks for logging this, Rohan. Yes, this is high on my list alongside finishing out the missing Lightning completions and references. I'm planning to switch to that after I finish up my current refactoring enhancements (some of which will be in next Monday's build).
For what it's worth, IC does currently support copying of LCs properly, so you could partially accomplish this by doing a copy, update references (that's the big thing that rename really gives you), and delete the original. Just type F5 on the component directly and it should create a proper clone. Again, it's not a real alternative to a proper rename refactoring which will come soon, but it should help remove some of the manual steps.
