Inconsistent Deployment Behavior

Issue #998 resolved
eulogiogallo created an issue

I keep running into issues when I first boot up IlluminatedCloud 2.0.1.6., it will just automatically deploy whatever changes I'm working on without me telling it to.

Also whenever I deploy multiple files, it will sometimes ignore the other files I am trying to deploy. However when I attempt again it usually works.

Any thoughts on these issues? It's really annoying when I think I'm deploying something, only to check back a while later and see that my expectations are wrong.

Thanks! Eulogio

Can you provide more details on how you're trying to deploy when this happens? Are you using deploy-on-save, force save, deploy modified metadata, or deploy all metadata?

    Hi Scott,

I’ve turned off the deploy-on-save feature because I thought this was causing my files to automatically deploy, but it doesn’t appear to be the case.

I used to use “Deploy Modified Metadata” and select which files I wanted to deploy, but this was being inconsistent. I then started using the “Force Save” feature, but this was yielding the same kind of results.

Ideally, I would be able to just save my file to deploy it, or use the “Deploy Modified Metadata” feature to deploy multiple files at once. Hope this explanation helps!

Also just want to add that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed using IlluminatedCloud 2, easily the best Salesforce IDE available now 😊

    Thanks! Eulogio

Eulogio, if you don't mind please read the following:

and let me know if those don't clarify the behavior of the various deployment actions/configuration options.

If you find that those actions aren't working as described, that would represent a bug, so please provide steps to reproduce here and I'll look into it.

And so glad to hear that you're finding IC2 useful! Thanks for the feedback.

Issue tracker grooming. If this is still an issue, please feel free to reopen, ideally with a concrete reproduction scenario.
