add option for CFD gadget to select where the x-axis crosses the y-axis

Issue #110 resolved
Bill Sheboy created an issue

Please consider adding an option to the Cumulative Flow Diagram (CFD) gadget to select where the x-axis crosses the y-axis.

Business Use Case: As teams finish work over time, the completed (“done”) work total is ever increasing. As a result, it becomes more difficult to use the CFD in a manner that makes process issues visible, as the relative number of issues in “to do” and “in progress” is overwhelmed by the number in “done”.

The ideal solution for this problem is click-selectable zoom which preserves the scale of the chart, as if all possible data were plotted. The current zoom feature works for the x-axis, but does not zoom in on a region for the y-axis.

An alternative would be to set the minimum value for display, and preserve the chart scaling. This could be done by offering an option or automatically computing the y-axis crossing point based upon the number of “done” issues at the starting date point for the chart.

    Hi Bill,

This issue should be fixed now by adjusting the min value displayed on y-axis automatically.

    Can you please confirm?

    Thank you,

    Hi and thanks, Danut Manda.

Your version of the CFD is now significantly better than the built-in one! Please remember to update your community post on this chart so others can see this improvement, as that will interest customers. 😀

    Best regards,
    Bill
