Dashboard not loading in Chrome, working in Edge

Issue #135 resolved
Stacy Haller created an issue

Good morning -

I’ve had users report issues where their dashboard 1) is slow to load and not all gadgets come back or 2) will be there and then blank when they come back to that page. If they reload, sometimes it corrects.

We have encouraged our users to access Jira via Chrome, but some users are reporting they can open Dashboards in Edge and it shows up fine.

We are running Jira version 8.20.1 on SQL Server 2017 on Windows Server 2019. Config is set to pool-min-size is 20, pool-max-size is 40.

Thanks!

    Hi Stacy,

    Thanks for posting.

Can you please test this with a dashboard that does not contain our gadgets? Please try a few times. It happened to me also, with a blank dashboard (the options for adding a gadget were not present at all).

I am asking because this looks more like a Jira issue. Other people in the community, which are not our customer, are complaining about this issue too:

    https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Software-questions/Jira-dashboard-not-loading-in-Chrome/qaq-p/1595261

If not, please let me know and we will investigate.

Also, please try disabling all the existing extensions of the Chrome browser and check if this helps.

    Thank you,

    Danut Manda

    Hi Stacy,

After some more research on the Internet, I found that this is an issue that affects many Jira customers:

    https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/Jira-dashboards-display-blank-in-Chrome/qaq-p/1910494

A bug ticket for Jira already exists:

    https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-73196

Can you please take a look? Please vote this issue and follow it for furher updates from Atlassian.

Unfortunately we cannot too much here, not being under our control.

    Thank you,

    Atlassian fixed the issue https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-73196.

But applying the fix requires the upgrade of Jira to a version that includes this fix. See below the latest update from Atlassian.

    Atlassian Update – 26 January 2022

Hello everyone, we have released LTS versions with the fix - 8.13.17 and 8.20.5 are available for download. To make the upgrade as smooth as possible we decided to isolate the change - having that said fix for this particular issue is the only change since the previous bugfix cadence.

At the same time, we are preparing the 8.22.0 and 8.21.1 releases which should be available soon.

    Stay tuned.

    Mateusz.

    Closing this ticket.

    Thank you,

    Danut Manda
